[ he pauses, considering his words carefully. ]

It was not a magic Asgard was familiar with. Even my mother knew little. I simply thought it was wise to practice discreetly so I would not invite ridicule.

It's a very personal thing.

[ he chuckles. ]

That, and I was often made fun of. I didn't want to add to it.

They made fun of you?

Well, I wasn't very Asgardian. I wasn't good with a lot of weapons, I disliked fighting, I never cared for the other activities all that much.

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth huffs.]

You had better qualities.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki smiles, squeezing his hand. ]

It was a long time ago.

[unkindled_madness]

That doesn't make me wrong.

[dothelokimotion]

I didn't say you were. Just that there's nothing that can be done about it now.

[ all those people are dead. what would be the point of holding a grudge now? even loki, the prince of grudges, sees the folly of it. ]

Well, they aren't here, so you can insult them all you like to a sympathetic ear.

[ his lips twitch slightly at that. ]

Tempting.

It's something I've always enjoyed.

I'll keep it in mind.

But for now, it can wait. I think we're in a good spot to fly.

[Sephiroth pauses at the edge of the field, looking around.]

Yes, this should do.

[...as if he would know from experience.]

[ loki doesn't say otherwise, merely smiling. ]

All right. I'll go first. You can watch how I do it.

[ he sets sephiroth's clothes down before concentrating. his magic tingles as loki gradually changes from himself to a black bird. ]

[He knows Loki can shift more quickly, so he appreciates the demonstration. He shrugs out of his coat as he watches, because he doesn't need to get caught in that when he's shifting.

Then he takes a seat and looks at his arms. One of them was a wing once before, so... he sort of knows what that feels like. He'll start there.]

[ loki the bird warbles. ]

Take your time with it.

I don't think I could do otherwise.

[Shifting at all is still new to him, and he's never been a bird before. The bones of his arms are starting to shift, which is... kind of gross-looking, quite frankly.]

[dothelokimotion]

Don't look at it. Close your eyes and concentrate.

[unkindled_madness]

Right. Imagine it.

[He closes his eyes as instructed. The proportions of his body start to shift now, too. His hair into feathers running down his back, and then spreading across his body. Slowly, little by little.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki chirps. ]

Yes. That's it.

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth smiles, while he still has lips. The chirping is cute.]

I appreciate the encouragement.

[Okay, time to shift his head. And he should probably be smaller, to be sure his wings can carry him. He didn't fully undress, so he starts to sink into his pants.]
