...I have not had much success with healing, but I can attempt it.

Sephiroth gently lays a hand over where Loki indicated the wound was. Touch shouldn't be necessary, but it might help him focus.]

It would . . . bring up bad memories. For both of us. He'd feel responsible. I don't want him to feel awful. I just want us to . . . simply be.

[ he allows the touch without fanfare, curious to see how sephiroth's magic will manifest. ]

[He's not concerned by the notion, just curious.

Nothing seems to be happening yet, in terms of magic. It was anger that helped him harness his black magic, but that probably won't help him here.]

[ he frowns before shaking his head. ]

Not over that and not after an explanation.

Hm. I would have understood.

[It wasn't his fault, but at the same time, he does feel some responsibility. His connection to Loki made Loki vulnerable. He might not have been injured, if not for that.

He'd like to fix it. Loki didn't allow him to suffer a lesser injury alone. But all he manages is a faint green glow, the weakest of healing spells.]

I know. But I meant what I said. And I chose to do that because . . . I couldn't bear it.

[ the pressure in his chest eases at least and loki sighs. ]

It was nothing.

I know your relationship with your brother is complicated. I can't speak to what you do to maintain it.

I mean what I did for you.

[ he couldn't bear making thor sad again. but he also couldn't bear the thought of sephiroth just being gone. and both urges stem from loki's selfishness to have them and keep them, but that does not mean he cares less. ]

He would have understood.

Because you attempted something similar for him?

[ loki shakes his head. ]

No. Because Thor is compassionate. Far more compassionate than I am.

I don't have enough experience with him to judge it for myself.

And I don't trust your assesment of yourself.

I'm sure there are plenty who could confirm that. He's a well known hero.

I mean, like those superheroes are supposed to be. He cares about people.

I know you mean that.

But, you are the one who cares about me.
