You’re a magic user, correct?
How much can you sense about people with it?
Say, people from the same universe or timeline, is there any magical way to trace that sort of thing?

I can sense magic and perhaps the kind of magic they possess, but if you're asking if I can sense who hails from which timeline, my counterpart can do that.

I must have missed it. I’ve kind of missed a lot of things the last few months. I’m pretty good at that once I’ve set my sights on something.

We practice in different areas, but all magic is compatible in some way.

Though I will say . . . Dr. Strange and I are not overly fond of each other.

So, what, you’re pulling from the same or a very similar energy source, but your applications and techniques make it different?

Kind of like biology and medicine— very broadly speaking they’re both subsections of science, which then branch off into their separate categories, but you can always bring them back together to let them work in tandem.

That a pretty close analogy?

That’s okay. I can hopefully make it work with help from just one of you, but I’m an options guy. I like to have them on the table. Just in case.

Very succinct. Yes, magic is similar to science that way but there are branches of application and after a while, it gets harder and harder to acclimatise yourself to other branches.

That makes sense. The further out from the original branch you get, the muddier the waters get, so to speak.

Precisely. Specialisation, much like science, is key, in order to maintain mastery.

That being said, that does not mean we lack knowledge in other branches. We may not be able to practice it, but we should all possess some awareness of different kinds of magic.

Some basic foundation across the board is always a good idea with things that might interact at some point, whether you're the one making that interaction happen or not. I get that.

So here's another question: The magic you use yourself, can anyone tap into that same energy source and use it? Or is there something specific to you– something biological or a certain set of parameters that you had to meet– that allows you to do that?

[Can he do it? Can you teach him this stuff and how to use it?]

My magic is specific to me. It's tied to my godhood and identity. It is unlikely I would be able to pass any of it onto a mortal.

That being said, Sunset Falls has leylines. You should be able to cast magic there, regardless.

Only problem with that plan being... I've got no clue what I'm doing.

Right now, I just want to understand how it works. On a fundamental level.
The rest... kind of depends on what answers I get from your counterpart.

But I still recommend having some sort of purpose or direction.

I'm not going at it blind, and I'm not the reckless sort, so you don't have to worry about that.
Once I have more of an idea what I'm looking at, I am sure I will be back with plenty of other questions. If that's okay?

Unfortunately, in terms of titles, I'm not sure what would be available. I learned my magic on another planet.
