I wish I could offer any advice but you'd find me poor counsel. I imagine that I deal with them even worse than the two of you. But if you wanted to talk to me, I would try.

Is it uncomfortable to think that someone could want you in his life? That he needs you?

Not uncomfortable. In truth, I think I've always wanted that. Instead of being used, I wanted to be needed.

[ desired. instead of being a stolen relic or the undesirable, to have people notice him and miss the axis on which he spun. loki is dramatic and he enjoys that, but he also had to be, or he would cease to matter. ]

But it is odd. Thor has friends. He could make a life easily without me. He's done it before.

So why is it different now? What’s changed? Or is he simply done with the pretense that he doesn’t want you around?

Well, for one, everything we knew and loved is dead. So I understand why it would feel extreme.

Is it so unusual to think that he’s always needed you, and this has thrown it into sharper relief?

Yes.

[ 100%. thor has never needed him. it's ludicrous to even consider it. why would thor need him? ]

And what? Thor still has friends in the Fleet. He has friends on that planet he loves so much. He's strong. He has a life.

A life he apparently wants you in. You’re not expendable Loki. You’re not some shiny thing to be tossed aside on a whim.

Not in the slightest. Not even if you try to be.

I cannot deny that. I do not think he would or choose to.

But I suppose it bothers me to see him suffer so. It bothers me because I am responsible for it and I do not know how to fix it.

I don’t know that I can give adequate advice. Fixing things isn’t exactly something I do. But he needs you in his life, and maybe he needs to hear that you WANT to be there.

I simply do not wish to give him false hope.

Why do you have so little faith in yourself?

I suppose I had no reason to have faith in myself.

Interesting. You worry about giving him false hope but don’t believe that he could want and need you as you are. If you have faith in him, why do you doubt him so?

I do not doubt him.

I doubt . . . what I would bring. What I've already brought into his life.

My father said once that wherever I went, I brought death and destruction.

Yet knowing what you’ve brought him, he wants you there still.
