Yes. The magic has been lackluster lately so I've been adding a little more to it.

Not for something this size. It requires a bit more effort on my part.

Huh.

[That's interesting to know. After a moment's hesitation, Thor reaches out and touches a finger to the wall. Asgard ripples back into life, a stretch of river bordered by the golden laneways and watchtowers of the palace. Thor sucks in a breath but holds steady otherwise.]

[ his expression softens at that and loki reaches out to touch thor's elbow. ]

You don't need to do that to yourself.

[His eyes flicker over to Loki and he shakes his head.]

I know. I wanted to.

[Why, he can't say. He doesn't rightly know himself. It hasn't made him feel better or worse, just... strangely lost. Stepping back from the wall once more he crosses his arms.]

Are you done with the spell?

[ loki watches him briefly before nodding. ]

Yes. It will hold.

Okay, good. I brought some drinks over.

[ he blinks, surprised. ]

You did? — Ah, it's . . . welcome, of course.

I thought it was about my turn, wouldn't you agree?

[He turns and starts heading back up the corridor towards the kitchen.]

[ loki is still baffled. ]

Your turn? For what?

To bring the drinks over.

[Come on, Loki, it's obvious.]

[ none of this seems obvious to him, but he trails behind thor all the same. ]

Ah. That's kind of you.

[As they pass into the kitchen Thor looks over his shoulder at Loki, eyebrows raised.]

Unless you were busy tonight.

[He hadn't bothered asking to come over, just assumed he could.]

[ loki snorts lightly. ]

Busy with what, exactly? None of us lead strenuous lives.

Well, I didn't want to assume.

[Walking into the kitchen, Thor drops into one of the counter seats and shrugs.]

It's a big planet after all. No doubt you've found things of interest.

[ loki watches him before taking his own seat. ]

There have been, I suppose. At least it's nicer than the last one.

Not hard to do. That place was mostly log houses and woods.

[ loki brings out the glasses they can use to drink with thor's booze. ]

Either way, it is behind us. You look better as well.

[Reaching over to snag one of the glasses, Thor gives Loki a bemused look.]

Compared to yesterday...? Or the other world.

[Thor doesn't feel much has changed since yesterday after all.]

To the other world, mostly.

[ loki's not fool enough to think yesterday marks a great change. still he meant it. thor does look a little better. ]

How do you feel?

[Thor makes a face, uncorking the bottle and filling his glass. He passes it to Loki when he's finished.]

Fine? Okay. I feel as though we had this discussion just yesterday.

[ loki pokes his shoulder. ]

Yes, but you're slow on the uptake.

[rebuildyourruins]

What was it you said on Sakaar? 'It varies from moment to moment'? It's like that.

[Which is a more honest assessment on Thor's part, yet it still explains why he just can't... answer it properly. It does change by the day, by the hour.]

[ he frowns at that, but loki lets it slide. ]

I suppose that's not terrible.
