[The day after their bar visit, Thor gets back to doing some real work. Supply runs for the Blue Fish come first. It's simple enough to stock up on canned goods and long-lasting food here. There's not much need anymore to keep all their freezers stocked with meat; without Sokka and with only five crew aboard, they don't go through nearly as much of it. Thor accounts for half of it, he thinks. And if he's the one buying it, he's entitled to that half. It does leave a lot of space for other goods. He makes some lists of things to get the next day, utilities and tools and more disposable things.
He also makes a note to stock up on drinks. He doesn't do that on this day, not in preparation for the drifting that will eventually suck them up again. But he does collect a few bottles and make his way over to the First Breath instead. Loki had been making visits often enough to the Blue Fish to do the same, so it's high time Thor returned the favour.
Thor walks into the kitchen and sets down the bag, before heading through the ship to find Loki.]
[ loki is easily located. he's right by the corridor, enforcing the magic on the walls. colours swirl, of asgard, of vanaheim and many other places that would seem familiar to thor. loki hums as he brushes his hand over the wall, the glitter of gold lingering in its wake before he blinks, turning to thor. ]
[The wall has always been eye-catching. Thor finds his eyes lingering on it for a few moments after Asgard's image has faded, needing to collect himself first. The sight of it always bring a pang to his chest.
But it's a smile he turns on Loki when he drags his attention away.]
[That's interesting to know. After a moment's hesitation, Thor reaches out and touches a finger to the wall. Asgard ripples back into life, a stretch of river bordered by the golden laneways and watchtowers of the palace. Thor sucks in a breath but holds steady otherwise.]
[His eyes flicker over to Loki and he shakes his head.]
I know. I wanted to.
[Why, he can't say. He doesn't rightly know himself. It hasn't made him feel better or worse, just... strangely lost. Stepping back from the wall once more he crosses his arms.]

Maintenance work?
no subject
Yes. The magic has been lackluster lately so I've been adding a little more to it.

You don't need to do that to yourself.

Are you done with the spell?

Yes. It will hold.

You did? — Ah, it's . . . welcome, of course.

[He turns and starts heading back up the corridor towards the kitchen.]

Your turn? For what?

[Come on, Loki, it's obvious.]
no subject
Ah. That's kind of you.
no subject
Unless you were busy tonight.
[He hadn't bothered asking to come over, just assumed he could.]
no subject
Busy with what, exactly? None of us lead strenuous lives.

[Walking into the kitchen, Thor drops into one of the counter seats and shrugs.]
It's a big planet after all. No doubt you've found things of interest.
no subject
There have been, I suppose. At least it's nicer than the last one.

[ loki brings out the glasses they can use to drink with thor's booze. ]
Either way, it is behind us. You look better as well.
no subject
Compared to yesterday...? Or the other world.
[Thor doesn't feel much has changed since yesterday after all.]
no subject
[ loki's not fool enough to think yesterday marks a great change. still he meant it. thor does look a little better. ]
How do you feel?
no subject
Fine? Okay. I feel as though we had this discussion just yesterday.
