[Steve chases after Loki's eyes.]

Hey. There's no choosing, here. Alright? Bucky isn't gonna make me choose. And if he does I'll tell him where to shove it. You hear me?

[ loki doesn't believe it. how could he? thor chose heroism. asgard chose thor. odin chose thor. no one chose loki.

[Loki's face breaks Steve's heart. He tries to keep his eyes, face grieved in it's own right.]

I know you might not trust me. But I swear, Loki. I swore to Thor and I'll swear to you; I'm not leaving you behind in any way.

[ he looks up at that in surprise. ]

Swore to Thor? What are you talking about?

[Maybe he wasn't supposed to talk about that.]

We were talking about getting everyone home. Safe. [And alive.] You can never tell, here, if you're gonna stay or leave.

I promised if he was gone, I'd make sure you got home safe.

[ loki frowns a little. he's not surprised but he's not sure what to make of it either. ]

I did not die the same way the others did. What makes you think I can come back?

[He smiles.]

You're coming back with us. One way or another.

[ loki eyes him briefly, uncertain. ]

[Steve squeezes his shoulder, smiling.]

There is no way I'm missing you meeting Stitch at Disney World. You're coming, pal.

He's not a real character.

Says you. What about magic, Lok? Can't that do anything?

[ he shakes his head. ]

Illusions may fool reality, but they can't produce anything real.

But at Disney World, Disney magic makes Stitch a big, furry guy you can hug.

[ he narrows his eyes. ]

I get the feeling this Disney magic is not real.

[Steve affects a gasp.]

[ loki can see this tactic for what it is and shakes his head. ]

You and Thor have better things to do than to save a man who is better off dead.

Well, I guess that might be true. But since I don't know any man who's better off dead, that point is moot.

[ loki scowls. ]

We both know I'm not like any man.
