Because I've just realised I was planning on taking you to Midgard without really asking your permission. That's bit rude of me, mayhaps. But! I swear you'd have enjoyed it, once you let go of your strange prejudice to the Realm.
[Thor nods, grinning.]
I wonder if this place would allow us to go there for a day.
[He takes a deep breath. Not crying, not crying. Though, he'd like to.]
Yes. Indeed, that's true. Maybe I've misspoken. Back then - I was planning to tell you later - much later - after we took care of everyone, settled, and so on - there's nobody else I'd be gladder to have on my side, than You and others. Than my new Revengers. And Heimdall, and other warriors.
[Smiles a little.]
And don't say again that I'm too sentimental, I'm absolutely not.
[Still not crying. Though if anybody, Loki will surely notice that his brother's close to tears now. And. Thor cries once in a blue moon, really, unlike Loki.]
Oh. Of course. Is there anything you ever didn't know about me? Now I doubt it. I must be so transparent, that's too bad...
[ there is one thing. but loki isn't sure if he should voice it. still, he glances at thor and if he notices the tears, he's kind enough not to bring it up and rub it in thor's face. ]
[Thor could bring up the times when Loki cried, but he never would bring them up, because those times? Honestly, who would...]
[He shrugs.] I'm not quite certain myself. And now I'm not sure what is it that I was asking of, exactly. Maybe you shouldn't mind me that much, when I'm in such a mood.
[Suddenly, he's in a panic, a little. He reaches towards Loki, then hesitates briefly.]
Just for a moment, please, stay. I never had a chance to tell you that no matter how you misbehaved or what we've done, or didn't do, even on the Bifröst, even in New York, you've always been my Brother. And you shall always be.
That's why I'm glad you've come back. Even though - maybe if you hadn't come, you'd be--
Do you know? I always thought I'd always be able to protect you. Always. Such conceit...
[Thor shakes his head.] Never you mind all of such. What I'm trying and failing to say is, that I never said goodbye. I'm regretting that. But - that's not your problem, sorry. That's probably not something you should care about. So, I shouldn't have complained.
What matters is that -here you are, even if it's only for a short while. However long this strange situation permits. And so, I should stop saying things about myself, that's boring, isn't it? Instead- instead-
Why shouldn't I? I'm the older brother here. It's my duty to take care of you, Loki, didn't you know?
[Smiles a little.] And I always thought - I've really been blessed with such a brother as you, so no wonder that some time it's also a handful. Maybe sometimes I've been rough in my conversations with you, but, I thought it mutual, I remember. Things would be strange, otherwise. I had thought you agreed. I always thought--
But I utterly failed you in the end. If somebody told me I wouldn't, in such a situation, manage to die for family or, or failing that, with my family, I wouldn't believe. I'm - glad - and shocked - that you don't blame me. But---
[But the truth is, I'm still alive and I hadn't protected you. He won't say that, though, since Loki doesn't want to hear that, but it's certainly on his face.]
[ loki moves closer and for the first time, he takes thor's hands, squeezing them slightly. such affection is usually beyond him, but loki is dead. what use are regrets and facades now? ]
Well then, it's you who doesn't understand. That's exactly why I should've killed Thanos the moment he showed up! And I was too slow. Too weak.
[Looks away.]
Again.
But I swear, never again-- after all, I can fight again, and I shall. Next time, for You, for Heimdall, for Asgard, I'll defeat Thanos and surely you know it.
Anyway. I really think you should give Midgard a chance, if this place ever puts you there for a moment. It's an amazing Realm, you barely know it, I'm sure.
[No, he's never asked whether Loki's visited Midgard much before everything, and he still doesn't think to ask.]
Loki, now you must be jesting. I do, naturally! To begin with, everything Jane's told me about Midgard. Er, Earth. And she's told me a lot. I can tell you.
Earth is the densest planet in the Solar System. It was formed - it and other planets there, hm, I think I'll go see them sometimes, Mars looks beautiful sometimes, actually, I might go see it later. Anyway, the planets have formed supposedly thanks to an explosion of a star. Must have been quite an explosion. This, I wouldn't want to see, I had enough of such things.
Earth's gravitation is six times higher than Earth's Moon, which is humans can float on their moon. Now that sounds like an enjoyable pastime.
Humans have only first left Earth very recently! And they sent a dog first. It never came back. I wonder where if it's still alive.
Bro wants to show his little Bro all his fav places on his fav Realm, etc. :D ;)
[Thor nods, grinning.]
I wonder if this place would allow us to go there for a day.
[His smile falters.] Perhaps not.
bless
[ though if he was frank, loki wasn't keen on living on midgard. but he was still powerful. what could a world of ants do to him? ]
:) And ants can do lots. Try stepping into an anthill - or rather, don't, for own safety. Pfftt XD

I knew that.

I'm glad.

No. No, Thor, it does not bore me. But you should not feel so guilty.

Mhm, enough about me.

You did not fail me.

Verily? I won't doubt you if you say so-- But, how so?
no subject
I chose my end. Everything that happened sprung from my own choices.
He was always going to kill me, Thor. There was no escape.

Of course you will. You are Thor.

Hopefully, you're not mocking me. I wouldn't know.

Not this time, but only this once.
