An interesting assumption, but not incorrect.

[He's almost a little disappointed, but he smiles anyway, bracing his elbows on the table, fingers linked together so he can rest his chin on them.]

The ship's a work in progress but it's close, there's a portal to the east that has a shipping port on the other side. The plan is to hitch a ride fro there to somewhere fucking habitable.

[He's careful not to mention an us or we, even though that's what it will be. He won't give too much away until he knows more about Loki, but he can say this, for now.]

Where did you find the ship?

[ There are plenty in the scrapyard, certainly, but most of those have been scavenged to their bare bones. ]

It's the one I got here in, took a lot of damage on the way down so that's been the delay, you know?

[Not only getting it back to working order, but improving it as much as they can, so it can withstand another trip through the portal.]

[ A mode of transport already available could be the key to leaving. Loki can hardly believe it. ]

How long is the delay?

A month, unless shit gets wild one way or another.

[It's a little less than that, but he'd rather overestimate than underestimate.]

[ A month is nothing to Loki and he's confident in his ability to handle the Grandmaster for that long. ]

Give me passage on your ship and I'll aid your escape.

I mean, I'm into it, sounds great, but just so you know you're not seeing the ship for at least two more weeks, I'm not stupid.

[If that's a deal breaker, so be it, but Taako wants to get a better read on Loki before he reveals the ship, and that requires time.]

[ Loki shrugs. If Taako was, that would make this escape attempt doomed from the start. ]

[He offers his hand, so they can shake on it.]

[ He lets go of Taako's hand gently. ]

What's the harm in a little mystery?

[He draws his hand back just a little, nails tapping idly on the table top.]

That depends on the mystery, for sure.

And what kind of fun do you have?

[He laughs a little at that, dramatically dropping his head onto the table, his voice full of anguish.]

I haven't had fun for months, pretty sure I've forgotten what it is.

How did you ever cope with the loss?

I get very drunk after work.
